Awhile ago I received a request from :iconmattl1222: with a list of 21 character names that he pulled from my random character name generator [link] (check it out, if you haven’t)

That’s an extensive list of characters to create, so I put it on the back burner. Then I started using that list as warm-ups for drawing, creating quick characters before I got down to business on other, more involved piece. So here are the results of those quick sketches. I know they aren’t polished in any way, but they were a fun way to get started.

“Nano Ogre (villain)” – After brutally defeating the hero Mr. Mote, the villainous Ogre stole his technology and now spreads his brand of terror on the microscopic scale.

“Digital Horror (villain)” – A miscast spell from an amateur wizard set free the monstrous boss character from an MMORPG who now seeks to conquer our world without the heroic nuisances of his video game prison.

“Quantum Runner (villain)” – A thief who moves fast. Very fast.

“Weather Bandit (villain)” – A Silver Age styled villain with a weather control belt that he stole from a theoretical meteorologist.

“Golden Gangster (villain)” – A mechanical warlord crashes in 1930s Chicago and takes over the gangs in his bid for global domination.

“Gun Demon (neutral)” – A troubled knight in the Crusades makes a bid with dark forces to secure immortality. Double crossed the knight continues his life on fringes of modern society trapped in a demonic form.

“Moon Viking (hero)” – The Vikings didn’t disappear completely. Some of them were transported to the moon through extraterrestrial intervention. Led by the MOON VIKING and using technology centuries more advanced than anything found on Earth today, these lunar warriors defend Earth from threats from beyond.

“Noble Zombie (hero)” – A priestess of the dark arts mistakenly raises a long dead, valiant prince to do her bidding. The noble heart of the prince counteracted the necromancy resulting in an undead hero.

“Space Djinni (hero)” – A hyperactive, cartoon-addicted extraterrestrial who uses reality as his plaything.

“Dr Danger (hero)” – Pulp-styled surgeon/inventor/vigilante armed with his fists an a laser equipped head mirror.

“Feral Boy (teen hero)” – Tarzan-esque time disoriented teenage hero who was sucked through a rip in time as an infant and raised to his early teens in the Pleistocene era only to be dragged back to the present by another temporal hole.

“Action Lad (teen hero)” – Meet Peter Perilous, the Living Action Figure!

“Ruby Gladiator (hero)” – Heroic gemstone fighter from another dimension whose never-ending War of Stones has spilled over into our universe! (channeling some Masters of the Universe mojo here)

“Blast Hawk (hero)” – Empowered by the legendary thunderbirds to protect mankind from the skies above with lightning blasts.

“American Fighter (hero)” – The results of a top secret Air Force project piloted by Captain Jenny Airhart.

“Gun Mage (hero)” – Waging magical war from the trenches of the Western Front, Technical Sergeant Maxwell Weiss’s penchant from summoning arms of all calibers earned him the nickname “Gun Mage.”

“Infinity Blade (hero)” – One man, so many blades.

“Mental Boxer (neutral)” – Premiere fighter in the secretive Full-Power Boxing Federation, the Mental Boxer combines nearly flawless technique with raw telekinetic might.

“Atomic Anarchist (villain)” – What’s scarier than a crazed anti-establishment radical with a bomb? One that IS a bomb!

“Emerald Warrior (villain)” – (this name screamed to be a counterpart to the Ruby Gladiator) Cunning and cruel gemstone fighter who brought the War of Stones to our world!

“Rocket Wrestler (hero)” – After inheriting the mystical Strength of Atlas, professional wrestler Jimmy “Wrecking Ball” Jenkins was commissioned by the National Space Agency to take a more hands on approach to a growing “missiles-from-beyond” problem in Earth’s orbit.

WHEW! I really like how Moon Viking, Gun Mage and the “Gemstone Fighters” turned out!

Cool work... but the Atomic Anarchist looks more like the Atomic Exhibicionist.
